Sudoku
The number puzzle that became famous in Japan: fill the grid so that every row, every column and every 3 × 3 box holds 1 to 9. Four levels and a fresh grid every game (always with a single solution), with notes, hints and undo. It’s made of glass, like the Towers of Hanoi, with a Japanese stained-glass window behind it: red sun, snowy mountain, torii, waves and cherry blossoms. With a gamepad, it vibrates when you place each number, and hard on a mistake.

Controls and rules
- Gamepad: D-pad or left stick move the cursor (it repeats when held); LB/RB choose the number and A places it (A again removes it); B erases; Y switches to notes (the pencil); X undoes; Select, twice, gives a hint; Start goes back to the menu.
- Keyboard (click the game first): arrows or WASD move the cursor; 1 to 9 place the number (with Shift, as a note); 0, Delete or Backspace erase; N switches to notes; Space or Enter place the chosen number; Z undoes; H, twice, gives a hint; Esc goes back to the menu. F: full screen.
- Touchscreen or mouse: tap a cell and then a number on the keypad on the right; the buttons below switch to notes, erase, undo, give a hint or go back to the menu.
- Every row, every column and every 3 × 3 box must hold the numbers 1 to 9, with no repeats. Each game brings a fresh grid, always with a single solution: on easy and normal it’s enough to see which number is missing; on hard you need to work with notes, and on expert, chain longer lines of reasoning. When you place a number, that note clears itself from the neighbouring cells.
- Mistakes: with “right away”, every wrong number counts; with “repeats only”, only one that clashes with an identical number in plain sight. Three stars with no mistakes or hints, two with up to three between them, one with more; undo doesn’t take mistakes back. The record (most stars, then least time) is kept for each level and mistake mode, and if you reload the page the game picks up where you left off.
